Recorded operating status: confirmed. Filed evidence status at publication: missing. Public design approval and publication do not verify site permission.
Bob provides the site and facilities, maintains the shared areas and his property, manages plot allocation and the waiting list, and supplies participant instructions. He handles donations, shed arrangements, camera questions, site permissions, and temporary closures. Bob selects the coordinating group, records decisions, and posts notices. He retains authority to veto or override garden decisions. The coordinating group sets seasonal and event dates, considers planting concerns and plot reassignment, and reviews the first-season pilot. Plot reassignment is decided by majority vote; other group decisions require consensus, subject to Bob’s authority. Karen posts announcements and decisions on social media and records feedback from gatherings and social media for the pilot review. Participants may announce their willingness to mentor through open signup and arrange gardening topics and times directly with other participants. The program does not select, approve, screen, verify, or endorse mentors or their advice. Volunteers follow the garden rules, obtain permission before working on another person’s plot or using their tools, and refer decisions outside their role to Bob or the coordinating group. Participants remain responsible for their own plots and for arranging care during absences. No paid staff roles have been specified in the current program record.
Mentoring is an informal exchange between participants. Signup is open and does not involve selection, approval, screening, or verification of a mentor’s qualifications, experience, or competence. No formal qualifications or screening checks are required. The program provides a way for people to notify participants of their willingness to share gardening knowledge. Listing or announcing a mentor does not constitute an endorsement or recommendation by Bob, the coordinating group, or the Community Garden program. No representation or warranty, express or implied, is made regarding a mentor’s competence or the accuracy, completeness, suitability, usefulness, or results of any information or assistance provided. Participants decide whether to seek or follow that assistance and should exercise their own judgment. Nothing in this notice excludes any duty or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Orientation is provided at the opening meeting, when plots are assigned and decisions for the year are made. It covers the garden rules, role boundaries, shed and water access, tool use and storage, cameras, and how to report concerns or obtain clarification. Anyone reserving a plot on another person’s behalf at the opening meeting is responsible for passing the orientation information to that person. Bob and the coordinating group are available for questions and clarification. Questions may also be directed through Karen using social media. A first-aid kit is available inside the shed. Notify Bob whenever anything from the kit is used so that he can restock it. Explain the tool-replacement rules during orientation: the participant who last used a broken tool replaces it, and a participant who leaves the shed unlocked replaces items stolen as a result. Bob may replace items voluntarily. Explain that attending a potluck requires a dish providing 50 servings and permits up to three guests per attending garden member. Cash contributions receive an acknowledgment, not an official donation receipt for income tax purposes.
Direct questions about garden rules, orientation, access, or volunteer activities to Bob or the coordinating group. Questions may also be passed through Karen using social media. Anyone who reserved a plot for another person is responsible for passing on the opening-meeting information; Bob and the group remain available for clarification. Report hazards, injuries, property damage, and shed or equipment problems promptly to Bob. For an emergency requiring police, fire, or ambulance assistance, call 911 immediately, then notify Bob as soon as practicable. Do not wait for a reply through social media before requesting emergency assistance. A first-aid kit is available inside the shed. Notify Bob whenever any item is used so he can restock it. No designated first-aid provider has been identified in the current program record. Refer planting concerns and other garden disagreements to the coordinating group. Apply the recorded decision rules: majority vote for plot reassignment and consensus for other matters. Bob retains authority to veto or override decisions and to revoke site access under the permission conditions. Participants may give feedback privately to Bob or the coordinating group or leave an anonymous written note in the feedback box inside the shed. Karen records feedback from gatherings and social media for the pilot review. Bob, the group, and Karen may read original feedback; only unattributed summaries are shared more widely. Ordinary feedback is retained until the end of the following season’s review, then identifiable details are removed and a summary retained. Follow the Feedback and evaluation tools for record handling. Camera questions go to Bob; requests to review footage may be made to Bob or the group. Camera footage and incident records follow their separate arrangements.
